UKONS Annual Conference 2023

Croeso (Welcome)

In 2023 UKONS will be taking our cancer nursing conference to the newly developed ICC Wales.

After a two-year gap enforced by COVID (during which we delivered two well evaluated virtual conferences) we returned to in-person conferencing last year in Belfast. This proved to be our biggest and best conference to date, with more attendees and exhibitors than ever before and we anticipate building on this success with another excellent conference in 2023. UKONS continues to grow our membership and we are now the voice of cancer nursing across the four nations. The state-of-the-art facilities at ICC Wales will allow us to engage with our Welsh members whilst taking advantage of the excellent transport links with the rest of the UK. This year the theme is ‘Let’s integrate cancer care’ and this will allow the academic programme to explore a wide range of subjects. These include nurse education and workforce planning and promoting the delivery of the best cancer care across a wide range of settings and working across boundaries.

The academic posters are a highlight of every UKONS conference and represent the best of what our members can achieve. The conference is a brilliant and supportive environment in which to present posters and we are looking forward to seeing your work, so please submit a poster, particularly if you have not done so before.

We looking forward to welcoming you all to Wales.

IMPORTANT - New Gilead Grant Available for attendance at UKONS Conference

The UKONS board are very aware that financially times are hard for many of our members. We also believe that our UKONS conference represents the best oncology nursing conference in the UK and we want as many nurses to attend as possible. In order to try and make this possible we have worked with one of our partners, GILEAD, to provide a grant. This grant would provide FREE registration, FREE accommodation and £100 towards travel to the conference.

In order to access the funds, there will be an application process. There is a form to complete, as well as short supporting statement explaining why you would like to attend the conference, what difference the grant would make and how you would disseminate any learning from the conference in your workplace.

UKONS would particularly welcome applications from nurses working at Band 5 or 6.

Deadline for applications by Friday 28th July 2023 to UKONS@media1productions.co.uk
