COVID-19 and Oncology Webinar Series

ONS and ASCO Partner for Caring for People With Cancer During COVID-19 Pandemic Webinar Series

The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) will host a weekly webinar series supporting the care for individuals with cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekly series will feature an expert panel discussing pertinent topics and an opportunity for a question and answer time.

The first webinar in the series will be on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at 4 pm EST. Subsequent webinars in the series will be held every Thursday at 4 pm EST. Registration is open for the entire series, and you may attend as many as you can.

As COVID-19 continues to spread, ONS and ASCO are focusing on the health and safety of the oncology community by developing and providing guidance for their audiences. Both organizations are committed to providing the cancer care workforce with current information and resources to ensure that individuals with cancer continue to receive high-quality care during these uncertain times.

The first webinar will cover issues regarding personal protective equipment (PPE) and telehealth. Subsequent webinars will cover issues such as the following:

  • Situation updates
  • Staffing
  • Limiting transmission
  • Legislative updates
  • Regulatory updates
  • ONS and ASCO resources

The spread of COVID-19 is a rapidly developing situation. ONS's online information regarding the coronavirus features information about COVID-19, PPE and safety information, resources for patient care and support, nursing and professional practice information, and more. ASCO's Coronavirus Oncology Resource Center contains answers to frequently asked questions, links to resources for patients, and other pertinent information. Both sites will be updated continuously as new information becomes available.
