An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Oncology/Haematology Nurse to lead
our enthusiastic out-patient nursing team. The post holder will be based in our busy
Oncology Outpatient Department but will also manage nursing staff in the Haematology
The Oncology Outpatient Department includes Oncology clinics and a busy day-case
oncology/haematology chemotherapy suite with 7 spaces. The Haematology Outpatient
Department is currently in a different location within the hospital. A project to co-locate
both departments into a purpose built, combined unit, is in its early stages. Managing and
leading the future transition and influencing new models of care, as the project proceeds,
will be a key role for the successful applicant. You will therefore need to demonstrate strong
leadership skills to manage these busy outpatient environments and to manage the exciting
The successful candidate will be a first level registered nurse, with extensive experience in
cancer nursing, educated to degree level or equivalent, and have excellent communication
Raigmore Hospital is the principal District General Hospital of the Highlands and is one of 5
regional Scottish Cancer Centres. Treatments delivered locally include Systemic Anti-Cancer
Therapies (SACT), radiotherapy and supportive therapies to patients from across the
Highlands and Islands with all cancer diagnoses. Inpatient treatments are delivered in our
dedicated Oncology/Haematology Ward.
