Cancer Care Map

The type of support signposted includes practical help such as transport services like Daft As A Brush in the North East who have a fleet of cars to take people to and from treatment and the Cinnamon Trust who offer foster care for cats and dogs if someone has to go into hospital for treatment, psychological and emotional support through counselling and support groups, and health and wellbeing support such as complementary therapies, exercise programmes for those recovering from surgery and nutritionists working with cancer patients to improve their diet following treatment.

They are part of the Richard Dimbleby Cancer Fund and have been working in cancer care and support since 1966, primarily through their work at the Dimbleby Cancer Care centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’. Since August 2019 they have been fully focussed on growing and developing Cancer Care Map.

If an organisation wishes to register their details they simply go to https://www.cancercaremap.org/feedback and click on the ‘Add a service’ tab - fill in all the information and then the team get in touch and validate the services and ask any questions and let them know when the listing is ready to be published. They also check on each listing every 3 months to ensure it’s always up to date.
